Personal Insights:

Holiday for Harmony is a sweet, loving, holiday film that is able to bring together many aspects that have been seen time and again, yet appears sincere, with characters that are so likeable. Ashleigh Murray had an excellent run as Emma fully emulating her character transition from being a city girl so obsessed with work to appreciating the importance of family and society. Luke James plays Will perfectly, the grounded boyfriend who will be in Emma’s life and logically serves as Emma’s ideal balance of romance and banter. As a result, their match seems organic, and their joint interactions supply the film with both funny and loving elements.

The film is different because the characters believe that it takes more than just love to bind people as a community, and that love can also be found in different things, such as cultural traditions. As Ms. Fran, Sheryl Lee Ralph plays the role of an older woman, covering memories of the past, where she instructs Emma to seek out what makes her happy and what decisions in her life should be important.

Cultural Relations contributes to the development of the holiday romance genre by integrating community unity, family bonds, and finding one’s roots. Taking place in a cute small town, the film expresses the importance of local customs and the happiness of returning to the place — especially the holidays. Its extended cast is purposeful in ending the trend of white predominance in holiday themed movies; it only helps to make the genre better and more interesting.

It is always fascinating to witness the picturesque representation of a quaint town, which is about simple people, their beautifully weird traditions, and the feeling of falling in love as represented in the film) as a touch on the heart which makes the film a wonderful addition to the seasonal repertoire.
