🧠 Plot Summary

A reserved British crime novelist emotionally stifled and disciplined, Sarah Morton is invited by her publisher to stay at his lavish country estate in the South of France. The purpose is to help her regain focus overcome writer’s block.

However, her stillness is shattered as Julie, the sensual and free-spirited daughter of the publisher, arrives unannounced. Watching silently as Julie parades around with her provocative behavior fuels a simmering bond between them brimming with jealousy, intrigue mingled with creative awakening.

Then suddenly, a mysterious death occurs by the villa’s swimming pool which breaks the quiescence surrounding their peculiar summer together and cements the bond between reality and fiction in a haunting psychological spiral.
