The only hint he has is a piece of paper found in his pocket with instructions to locate someone called Ava. As he sets off in search of the truth regarding his embarrassment, he enters into a surreal universe which makes him question reality itself. This drama-sci-fi Muslim film focuses on the elements of memory, self, and relationship.
Cast:
Michael Fassbender as the man himself with amnesia
Tessa Thompson as Ava Riz Ahmed as someone from his history who appears to be mysterious
Positive Aspects:
On a positive note, in the hands of the able actor Michael Fassbender, I saw a tormented man suffering from an identity crisis, and the nuances of his vulnerability and strength were both beautiful to witness.
The story does touch upon serious issues like the essence of memory and memory and its usefulness in our lives, and provides a gripping story line.
The images are made wonderfully, and the visual effects are beautiful enough to raise expectations especially in scenes where real life and deception appear to intersect.
Negative Aspects:
Film may be residing in the slow genre as there are such times in most of the situations where quietness is maintained which gets prolonged time and again which could be irritating to some.
Though the film leaves some stones unturned about the events, it may leave some viewers who are frustrated by the time the end rolls around.
